Best of the Jackie Gleason Show, Vol. 1 & 2

April 19 @ 12:00 am

“The Jackie Gleason Show” was one of the most popular TV shows from 1952-1970. Hosted by comedy icon Jackie Gleason, the show introduced memorable characters and sketches, the most popular being “The Honeymooners” featuring Gleason as Ralph Kramden, Audrey Meadows as Alice Kramden, Arte Carney as Ed Norton and Joyce Randolph as Trixie Norton. The sketch followed the Kramden’s and their lives and relationships living in Brooklyn alongside their neighbors, the Norton’s. “The Honeymooners” has been described as being the backbone of the show and entertained millions of viewers every week. Jackie Gleason had an arsenal of lovable recurring characters on the show including the suave millionaire Reginald Van Gleason III, Joe The Bartender and, the loudmouth, Charlie Bratton. Gleason also offered many memorable opening monologues with continuing themes, such as his Mother Fletcher bits and musical performances. The Best of the Jackie Gleason Show, Volumes 1 & 2 showcase a collection of the greatest less-visual show moments that can now be enjoyed wherever you listen to comedy.
